Be your authentic self………….

I happened to catch an Oprah show and saw a clip that I keep playing over in my mind…”just be yourself.”  Oprah gave thanks to the man that started her career and hired her for who she is: her personality, character and soul.  Since that episode I have come across many people giving thanks to Oprah for launching their solo career as she always said, “be your authentic self.” This phrase is my new mantra that I repeat in the back of my mind: just be yourself.

For me, this phrase helps me tap into my heart and express my love when I’m in the heat of the moment.   Whether on the job, crowded grocery line or bearing public transportation just step back when possible and express your true self.  We have every right to be here, express our thoughts and freedom to express what is on our mind in our own style.

So be who you are and feel the freedom to live life with no restrictions. Nourish your true self.

The gift...............

This year, honor where you are in life.  You are exactly where you want to be.  Live in the moment and open your arms to change.  This is the now you have longed for and will continue to make your dreams a reality.  This holiday season, don't rush.  Give yourself the gift of no judgments and wash all the negativity away.............just breathe.

The spirit of love….

When in love sometimes we fall so deeply into the person we develop a sense of attachment with love.  Letting go of the attachment of love and falling in love with the spirit of the person generates a sense of goodness in our soul that is everlasting.  Honoring the spirit of the person brings warmth, goodness and love to our soul.  The soulful connection in oneself is everlasting and ignites the feeling of love; this is the spirit of love.
                                                                                                                                                    …………last forever.
Just breathe.

Surrender…………..

Recently I’ve engaged in the act of surrendering.  Some times we get caught up in our own agendas, schedules, comparing our life to the status quo and our daily “to-do” list.  With so many resources and technology at our finger tips it is easy to create our own world.  When we step out of our world, whether by choice or force, more variables present themselves that may conflict with our schedule.  This conflict may bring about unexpected change and the unknown.  The simple act of surrendering and trusting in the universe can ease a lot of suffering and pain.  Trust yourself to believe in the power of surrendering, surrender to your true self.

Asking for directions

There is a story I've been meaning to share. When I first moved to San Francisco I was lost on the 38-bus line. I missed my stop and needed to find out where I was. I asked the bus driver if we pasted the Fillmore stop. He smiled, as the stop was quite a ways back. I had no idea where I was and needed help. Many offered help and detailed explanations of how to get back, but there is one individual that I will always remember. I just heard his kind strong voice with clear directions.  When I turned around I noticed he was a blind. Directions from a blind man got me to where I needed to be. :)

Home is where the heart is developed

I am ending my two week visit home.  It was an awesome and inspiring visit that made my heart stronger.  Visiting with friends and family always warms my soul and gives me a chance to connect closer to myself. Love is always & forever!!!

Intro: Live life to the fullest

Hello: This is my first attempt at blogging as a way to connect with the world. I feel there are many people out there who believe life is beautiful and treasure the journey of life. My want and need of this blog is to honor the simple things in life.  It is simplicity that brings people together and makes life’s journey full.

Volunteering is a simple yet powerful way to connect with people, community and the world. Today I experienced a great day volunteering for the Eat Real Fest Eat Real Fest at Jack London Square in Oakland.  Organized by Slow Food Nation I was encouraged to slow down, enjoy the moment and be mindful of what I eat.  The event highlighted the simple acts of hunting and gathering the fruits of the earth to make a wealthy meal. Simple, yet incredibly delicious! Just another experience of living life to the fullest!
